About Water uses a variety of cartridges and filters; depending upon the situation, available pressure and quality of the water. The range extends from simple polishing filters, through to Giardia and bacteria safe filters and specialty filters.

Most filters will last between six and twelve months before requiring replacement.

Unless otherwise stated (A=Absolute) the micron (µ) figures quoted are a nominal rating.

Purifiers are not intended for use on microbiologically unsafe water.

Described as “polypropylene roving string” it is basically a poly string wound around a central core which is then bonded together. Used purely for sediment removal, giving high flow rates.

KDF Cartridges

KDF Cartridges

KDF/GAC 15K and 30K

The KDF/GAC is a “two-media” cartridge consisting of KDF (high-purity copper-zinc alloy) and GAC (granular activated carbon), providing superior filtration qualities. Through the electrolytic and oxidation reactions of the KDF and the adsorption and entrapment capabilities of the GAC, the KDF/GAC can remove or greatly reduce a wide range of contaminants through to 30,000 litres.

The KDF media also provides a bacteriostatic effect which is hostile to algae, fungi and bacteria. The OKDF30/1 is also Cyst safe.

Protection from pressures above 700 kPa [125psi] or water hammer is still highly recommended

OSCL-10

The Omnipure SCL-10 combines activated carbon with polyphosphate, resulting in the reduction of contaminants that can cause taste and odour in water, as well as the reduction or elimination of lime scale that is associated with “hard water”. This media combination is ideal for the protection of equipment.

For Fluoride Removal from Water
Activate Aluminium Oxide

E.P.A. approved method for the removal of fluoride (and arsenic) from drinking water.

ABA 2000Fl has a surface area of 350M²/g of material which allows more efficient removal of fluoride ions.

Typical reduction of fluoride in New Zealand municipal supplies is >98%. Tests conducted in NZ show no leaching of Aluminium from the cartridge.

DI-2

Aqualine De-Ionising Cartridge

The DI-2 is a non regenerable industrial and general purpose deionisation polishing cartridge designed to provide extremely low TDS water (low conductivity) for analytical and general laboratory use and may be also used in autoclaves. The high quality semiconductor grade ion exchange resins will deliver high purity water with a minimum TOC background.

The DI-2 is constructed totally from FDA grade materials and media. It is primarily designed as a polisher for low TDS feed water. It can be used in a recirculating mode or as a post RO scavenger.

Down flow operation is preferred. Intermittent up-flow may cause bed separation and quality failure.

Purolite A -520E is a macroporous strong base anion resin which is specifically designed for the removal of nitrates from water for potable processes. The macroporous matrix and special ion exchange group functionality imparts ideal nitrate selectivity.

Typical reduction of nitrate based on 2 litres per minute throughput is 90 - 95%.

Resins are regenerable using common salt.
